Rick Huggins Scholarship Fund Information
The Southeastern Insulation Contractors Association (SEICA) is proud to offer the Rick Huggins Scholarship Fund to assist students who are interested in pursuing a career in engineering, design, construction, and related professions or students who are sponsored by a SEICA member. Applications are currently being accepted for the upcoming academic year, 2025–2026. The Scholarship Committee will select the most qualified and deserving applicants and make recommendations to the SEICA Board of Directors to award scholarships.
To apply, you must be one of the following:
1. A SEICA member, dependent of a member, an employee of a member, or be sponsored by a member.
2.. A full-time high school student; or be currently enrolled in a construction, engineering, design, or related curriculum at an accredited college or university; or be currently enrolled in a construction-related course in a vocational school or career development program.
Applications will be evaluated based on the applicant’s past academic performance, relationship of course study to the engineering, design and construction industry, financial need, extracurricular activities, community involvement, work history, and attitude. Interviews with applicants will be held in the Spring each year.

Rick Huggins Scholarship Fund 2025-2026 Recipients
The scholarship committee and SEICA’s Board of Directors approved Trey Jernigan, Elizabeth Huerta, Chloe Morris, Maggie Mizzell, Bo Thompson, and Talan Willett as the deserving recipients of the scholarship.
Trey Jernigan, currently studying Communications at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is the grandson of SEICA member Tommy Jernigan from Performance Insulation Fabricators.
Elizabeth Huerta, currently studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of South Carolina-Columbia. She is the daughter of SEICA member Macario Huerta from Insulating Services.
Chloe Morris, currently studying Human Development Family Science at Kennesaw State University. She is the daughter of SEICA member Laura Morris from GFI Solutions, Inc.
Maggie Mizell, currently studying Medical Sonography at Gaston College. She is the daughter of SEICA member Brian Mizell from Alliance Fabrication.
Bo Thompson, currently studying Building Science at Auburn University. He is the son of SEICA member Robbie Thompson from Conklin Metal Industries.
Talan Willett, currently studying Construction Management at Western Kentucky University. He is the son of SEICA member Brian Willett from Gribbins Insulation & Scaffolding.
